Kev F Sutherland is a writer and performer who works regularly as a stand up, comic strip artist, TV presenter, caricaturist, and the voice and hands behind the legendary Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre.
His TV and stage show The Sitcom Trials has been running since 1999 and has enjoyed its first TV series on ITV1, while his sitcoms have been made by BBC radio. As a stand up Kev has been seen nationally and internationally, most recently appearing as part of BBC 1's Comic Relief effort with his attempt to beat the world joke-telling record. (Not, admittedly, a successful attempt, but it raised a lot of money for the charity!)
Kev F's TV series have included The A-Z of Rude Health (ITV1) and Comedy Shuffle (BBC3), and he appears as an expert on comic strips on such shows as Battle Of The Books (BBC4) and Radio 4's front Row.
Kev works as a stand up, compere, presenter and voice over artist, and is a regular guest on TV and radio, both as a comedian and as an expert in sitcom and comic books. He is also available as a corporate caricaturist - he can draw 100 people in 2 hours, ideal for parties and exhibitions - and he currently writes and draws for The Beano.

This last gig came courtesy of being the official chronicler of the nation’s favourite radio comedy, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue – and also, the nation’s favourite sitcom, Blackadder. These were followed by Douglas Adams: The Frood – the Very Official Story of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and then Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie agreed to him becoming their official biographer in the authorised Fry & Laurie biography, SOUPY TWISTS! His fourth comedy history book, FAB FOOLS, is the first ever exploration of The Beatles’ comedy, and The Rutles’ history.
He has performed comedy everywhere from Edinburgh Fringe to Glastonbury Festival to the Battersea Barge, compéred Burlesque and Variety shows all over the land, been a resident comedy maestro on BBC Radio Bristol, and acted in short films and in Shakespeare at Ludlow Castle.
Having written for children throughout his career, Jem is also Brother Bernard, leading the campaign for TALES OF BRITAIN – believe it or not, the first British folktale collection to be published in over 30 years, released in March 2019! Besides being a book containing 77 tales from Scotland, Wales, Kernow, England and the Isles, each refreshed for the 21st century, with tourist guides to every last one, it is a touring live show for all ages. Further volumes will follow, special editions, an audiobook/podcast, and above all, the live shows all over the UK, if not the world, all year long!
